Restaurant Manager Joakim Thomassen
Joakim's gastronomic journey began as a waiter, where he discovered his profound passion for wine. This revelation led him to pursue specialization as a sommelier, culminating in his membership with the Danish Sommelier Association in 2018 and certification from the prestigious Court of Master Sommeliers in London in 2019.
His expertise flourished as Head Sommelier at Restaurant Lyst in Vejle, where he mastered the art of flavor pairing and pioneered innovative alcohol-free beverage experiences. These experiences have deepened his commitment to crafting extraordinary dining moments, where every nuance is orchestrated to enhance the guest's journey.

Behind Restaurant domæne stands Witt Denmark A/S, evolving since 1993 from selling home appliance in Denmark to global innovators across multiple product categories. With an enduring passion for culinary innovation, Witt Denmark A/S has consistently dedicated itself to elevating gastronomic experiences. Restaurant domæne represents our next evolution, transforming dining into a tangible expression of our philosophy. Nestled in Gødstrup's picturesque landscape, we welcome not merely customers but guests into our world, sharing our culinary passion as both hosts and storytellers.
Since opening in May 2022, Restaurant domæne has flourished under the passionate leadership of Head Chef Jens Vincent and Restaurant Manager Joakim Thomassen. Our dedication to excellence earned us a Michelin star in June 2023 — an accolade that inspires our continued pursuit of culinary artistry.


The Space
Restaurant domæne nestles within nature's embrace, our building merging seamlessly with the surrounding forest. Canadian cedar adorns our facade, harmonizing with the landscape, while patinated copper panels mirror the forest's textures and hues.
Inside, guests discover a haven of Nordic serenity and warmth. Natural materials and gentle, muted tones create an atmosphere of refined simplicity, while our domed architecture balances grandeur with intimacy.
